Marirose Radelet Award for Exemplary Site Performance is a RIF Pittsburgh award that is awarded annually to one site for going above and beyond the requirements as a Books for Keeps participant for the current school year.

The Marirose Radelet Award is named in honor of the founder of RIF Pittsburgh, a long time Northside resident and advocate for helping children become lifelong readers.

Marirose was inspired to begin RIF Pittsburgh when she invited children from her neighborhood to bring their books to read and she became aware that many did not have books of their own.

Requirements

• Turning all paperwork in on time
• Creativity of reading related activity
• Holding a fundraiser for RIF Pittsburgh
• Publicizing RIF Pittsburgh's Books for Keeps
• Maintaining regular communication with RIF Pittsburgh staff

The Winner of the Annual reward receives a special engraved award, lunch and 100 books. The second place winner receives 50 books and a gift card for $25.00 to a local book store.
