2008
RIF Pittsburgh was selected as one of twenty-five RIF Programs in the country as a Program Excellence Honoree for our collaboration with the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh. RIF Pittsburgh received this prestigious award in June of 2008 for successfully partnering with outside organizations to advance literacy in their communities.
2007
RIF Pittsburgh was awarded the Founder's Circle Award from the Board of Directors of the Sharry Everett Scholarship Fund. This award was to recognize RIF Pittsburgh as a valued Life Member and loyal supporter-committed to making a positive difference in the Northside Community.
2001
RIF Pittsburgh was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School for providing over 17 years of service. RIF Pittsburgh continues to partner with this school and many others.
RIF Pittsburgh was also awarded for their service and commitment to Project M.O.V.E at Oliver High School. Project M.O.V.E places high school students with local businesses etc. to teach them work related skills.
1996
RIF Pittsburgh then Central Northside RIF, was awarded with a Resolution by Councilman Dan Onorato declaring Tuesday, October 15th as Reading Is FUNdamental Day throughout the City of Pittsburgh for their continued support of children and literacy in the Pittsburgh region.
