LITERACY UNDER THE LIGHTS

Family Reading Event

We are a partner in the region's "Won't You Be a Reader?" literacy campaign this summer and fall and are the lead event planners for our area’s first "Literacy Under the Lights" event!

WHAT IS IT? A nighttime, family literacy event, under stadium lights!

  • Multiple free books for kids

  • Games and activities for kids

  • Literacy resources for kids and parents

  • Storytimes at “half-time” around the field from local athletes, authors, educators, and leaders

  • Photo opportunities with mascots and storytime readers

WHERE IS IT? Chatham University’s UPMC Graham Field

WHEN IS IT? Thursday, October 8th, 5:30 - 7:30pm

WHY? Kids who learn to love reading learn to read. So, we want to hold an event where kids can self-select books to keep that they are excited about reading and also see adult reading models in action.
